L'Altalena, bateau coulé au large de Tel-Aviv par l'armée régulière israélienne en 1948, a été retrouvé intact. Celui-ci représente "un chapitre fondamental de l'histoire de la création de l'État d'Israël", selon les mots du ministre du Patrimoine israélien.
