Alors que l’OM a traversé un mercato estival particulièrement mouvementé sur fond de fortes contraintes financières, son président Stéphane Richard a reconnu dans "Rothen s'enflamme" sur RMC que Bruno Genesio avait été proche du point de rupture. L’entraîneur marseillais, qui n’a finalement enregistré aucune recrue dans son effectif, a notamment suivi de près le dossier Igor Paixao.
